CLT is the only electronic course which is designed and created according to Common European Framework – language teaching standard for the Europeans which has been worked out by the Council of Europe. CLT course is present in over 500 corporations in the world, so far over 5 mln students used it. It received numerous awards, including prestigious Worlddidac Award 2006.
CLT course are sold in 80 countries in the whole world. They include languages like: English, Spanish, German, French and Italian. At present in Poland only English language courses are available. CLT remote teaching platform is an assembly of techniques which in a clear and easy way support realization of personal policy in companies and their branches, educational centers and institutions. It enables to train separate branches through distant learning. CLT platform uses innovative tools intensifying teaching process, saves time and costs that are incurred during client or employee education. CLT method enables to learn in any time and place, with the use of the newest, interactive technologies, including the most effective method – e-learning. It enables to establish own language development path, with emphasis on one of the four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. They can be close to the language whenever they want to, not only during meetings with the teacher. •students have the possibility to practice pronunciation in stress-free conditions, which is a great advantage for people with barrier in speaking •the programme enables the superior (or another entitled person) to quickly and easily check each student’s knowledge at any time EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS In order to effectively use the language programme a computer should fulfill the following requirements: • Pentium Processor • Windows 98, SE, ME, 2000, XP or Vista • CD-ROM disc driver • minimum definition: 1024x768 pixels, high color quality, recommended definition 1280x1024 pixels, real colours • RAM 64 megabytes, minimum 32 magabytes • speakers or headphones, microphone • Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5 or newer CLT licence is delivered to the user after completing the Placement Test which determines a student’s language level (A1-C1). The license is granted for 12 months and includes one level. Within the license you will find Language Course and Reference Section – which includes additional exercises, vocabulary, develops communicative functions, enables to practice pronunciation and create own vocabulary and phrases list according to the rules worked out by methodologists. Working with CLT system according to methodologist’s directions (minimum 90 minutes per week) enables to raise language knowledge by one CEF level within 6 months of intensive learning – the access to the license, however, lasts 12 months and enables constant active work with the system. There is also a possibility to print out the material as a coursebook and to have a 12-month license hosting on the Digital Publishing platform which is the CLT system producer. Working with the online teacher, Tutor, enables to raise general language knowledge, to develop communicative skills and vocabulary by one level within one course. One CEF level contains about 6000 training screens in the CLT training. BLENDED LEARNING COURSE It is a combination of traditional language courses conducted by a teacher and learning with the use of e-learning techniques. It is a combination of two different teaching methods and putting them together in such a way so that they ensure the best conditions for learning, they are also to ensure the most effective way of learning. Blended learning also broadens possibilities, quality and quantity of a student’s reactions in training conditions. Thanks to the Internet and using it for the course students can use the course whenever and wherever they want to. Blended Learning ensures a “good” mixture of technology and interaction which will result is experiences such as: group support or constructive criticism. The are especially important while using language in contacts with other people , because the help to break the inner barriers connected with speaking or using language in real life situations.
